Young people in many countries are affected by HIV and AIDS in their families, schools, and communities, so they need to acquire skills to prevent HIV infection and to cope with all aspects of HIV and AIDS. Teachers play a critical role imparting knowledge and skills to students. This activity book was developed for the classroom and to complement the teacher training module, Leadership in the HIV and AIDS Response. Using interactive methods, learners will participate in a series of age-appropriate activities covering many facets of HIV and AIDS, including prevention strategies; HIV counselling, testing, treatment, and care; gender inequalities; stigma and discrimination; and involvement of people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. The book has three sections targeted to students in the age groups: under age 10, ages 10–14, and ages 15+.
