Suicide Prevention Assessment Resource Kits
While research has identified a number of effective suicide prevention strategies, many have not been put into practice. Through the Suicide Prevention Assessment Resource Kit (SPARK) project, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration and in collaboration with National Association of Mental Health Program Directors, HHD is creating toolkits with easy-to-use educational materials and interactive resources.
These resources will focus on institutional and personal barriers that prevent suicide from being addressed in various settings, and provide motivation to create more positive environments. Professionals responsible for the health and well-being of populations at particular risk of suicide will benefit from these toolkits, namely staff in high schools and staff in residential facilities for older adults.
