A FRESH Global School Health Initiative

HHD assisted the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in adapting materials for a comprehensive school health program, Focusing Resources on Effective School Health (FRESH), which includes a website and CD-ROM toolkit. The project aimed to put user-friendly information and tools into the hands of people working in schools at the national, district, and local school levels around the world. The materials are related to nutrition, food, hygiene, and other health issues. HHD identified and adapted 25 tools that address two components of FRESH: skills-based health education and school health services.
