Planning for Children’s Mental Health in Connecticut
Reducing the number of children ages 6-14 who enter intensive mental health treatment and/or the juvenile justice system is a priority of the Connecticut Health Foundation. To accomplish this goal, the foundation created a program to support and promote a comprehensive community-based system of early identification, assessment, and brief intervention.
HHD supports 11 Connecticut grantee communities by providing developmentally-staged assistance in strategic planning and community mobilization. With this support, these communities can then create a solid plan to identify, implement, and sustain evidence-based practices in children’s mental health, including early identification, assessment, and interventions.
