Preparing the Public Health Workforce in Violence and Injury Prevention

With the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HHD is transforming workshop materials, developed by WHO and other experts on violence and injury prevention, into a series of Web-based courses to extend their reach. Adapting the print materials into a comprehensive, interactive, and customizable e-learning system, WHO will be able to reach medical personnel, public health practitioners, and the staff of government ministries and non-governmental organizations worldwide. Recipients will be able to use the curricula, TEACH VIP E-Learning, for guided self-learning or to educate and train others in the basics of a public health approach to injury and violence prevention.
