Choosing and Implementing a Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Program
The Suicide Prevention Resource Center is now offering a new online course: Choosing and Implementing a Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Program. The course can be completed in about an hour and is designed for those who are positioned to make decisions about training implementation in their school, organization, or community.
The course will help participants:
- understand the role of gatekeeper training
- decide if a gatekeeper training program is right for their school, organization, or community
- involve stakeholders
- choose, implement, and evaluate a gatekeeper training program
- provide ongoing support to sustain the program
“Gatekeeper training programs are a very popular suicide prevention approach, yet little has existed, to date, to assist people in understanding how to strategically select and implement a program to ensure its effectiveness. This course was created to fill that training gap.”
