Wins Grant for Youth Alcohol Prevention Conference "This grant is testimony to The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's commitment to improving the health of young people and families, as well as to EDC's record of success promoting health and preventing alcohol and drug problems in communities around the world," said conference director Joel Epstein, who works within EDC's Health and Human Development Programs (HHD). EDC was also the recipient of a recent $5 million grant from the Foundation for support of the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention, a national resource center for universities on campus substance abuse and violence prevention, housed within HHD. The latest grant will support the 13th Alcohol Policy conference series, historically a forum for researchers, community advocates, and public officials to exchange ideas, explore evidence-based solutions, and consider the application of non-partisan analysis and research findings to laws and policies aimed at minimizing risks associated with alcohol use.
