Diane Barry serves as
HHD's communications director. She oversees a
communications strategy for HHD, delivering key messages to practitioners
and funders through brochures, reports, and the HHD Web site. She
provides media relations, marketing, and communications technical
assistance to many of HHD's projects in health and criminal justice,
which includes training community practitioners in media relations
and other communications skills.
In addition, Ms. Barry works with staff from The Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, providing communications services -- most recently creating
material for an online communications resource center for their
grantees and completing a survey of grantee communications needs.
She has 20 years of health communications experience in the fields
of substance abuse, mental health, and criminal justice. For the
past several years she has taught a graduate health communications
course at Boston University School of Public Health.
